Sikkens Autowave is AkzoNobel’s premium waterborne basecoat built for professional collision repair. It delivers precise OEM matches on solids, metallics, and pearls with excellent coverage, metallic control, and sprayability.
Precision Color Matching with Automatchic Vision
Smartphone cameras are not accurate enough for professional automotive color matching. For reliable results, shops use the **AkzoNobel Automatchic Vision**—a compact spectrophotometer often called a color “camera.”
Typical workflow:
1. Properly prepare the measurement area on the vehicle.
2. Take 2–4 readings with the Automatchic Vision.
3. Sync the data wirelessly to AkzoNobel’s **MIXIT** cloud software.
4. MIXIT searches a database of over 2 million colors and returns the best Autowave formula.
5. Mix the color and verify on a test panel before applying to the vehicle.
This digital process is faster and more consistent than traditional chip matching, reducing rework, material waste, and cycle time.
